Ryan – Stone Wedding 19 February 2011

Thank you so very much for helping make our wedding day so excellent.
It all came together perfectly, and other than one small glitch which happened later on in the evening, there was NOTHING I would have done differently.

Having you as our celebrant was great. There is definitely nobody else that I would have wanted to be there with us. Thank you so much.

You are truly an amazing man and I am so grateful that I have had a chance to meet with you and spend time with yourself and your wife.

Life is many things for different people, for me it is the people I meet, the experiences I have and the special people that have a spot in my heart for all time, and little things we can learn from one another.

From experience you are wise and you helped me look at things in a different perspective, for that I will be forever grateful.

Hammond Wedding 31 December 2010

Neven was such a pleasure to deal with when my husband and myself got married on New Years Eve 2010. At the start I had a celebrant but that fell through and in searching for a new one I came across Neven's website and contacted him from there. As I was organising my wedding in Palmerston North but living in Melbourne, email was the best way for me to communicate and Neven was so quick to respond to my queries which made it all the more easier.

Neven was so flexible in what we wanted in our service and always had good ideas throughout our communications. I met with Neven only once before the wedding as we could only make it back to NZ in October before the wedding and I felt so at ease talking to him, actually I think we ended up talking more about rugby than the wedding but I trusted that he would do a great job we didn't need to talk about it that much.

When the day came everything went as planned and we couldn't have asked for a better day and Neven just made our day that much more special with the way he conducted the service and we are truly grateful for his time and effort that he put in for our wedding.

Family Services

"Our family have had the privilege of sharing some very special moments in our lives with Nev MacEwan. He has performed our wedding ceremony which was announced with little more than a week’s notice due to the unexpected arrival of family from overseas. In that short period of time Nev met with us on a few occasions taking time to discuss with us exactly what we wanted our day to be and to offer advice and support for different readings and vows on the day. He provided a calm presence on our special day and guided us through our wonderful wedding day with great respect, care,love and a great sense of humour!. He also commanded a lot of respect from our family and wedding guests when we pointed out that our celebrant was a 6'5" All Black Lock - a point my husband continues to boast about to this day.
Nev has also been our chosen support person to conduct the funeral of our beloved Mum. As we had known Nev for years the choice was easy when it came time to face such a sad duty in arranging her funeral; when nonetheless we wanted the ceremony to be an occasion to look back on with fond memories of having done our loved Mum proud and to have celebrated her life in a way that was so well reflected the amazing woman she had been to so many people. Nev provided our whole family support from the time he got our first call till after the funeral when he called some days later to check how we all were and to offer any assistance he could to us. Again Nev's calm, caring, respectful and supportive presence was the glue that held us all together during that very difficult time.
We cannot express enough our heartfelt appreciation for Nev and the wonderful work he does; quietly going about his work as a celebrant, a minister and a tower of strength in happy times and difficult times. He's a great big gentle giant of an All Black with a heart as big as an All Black Forward Pack!! "

"Our sincere thanks for leading Dad’s service and keeping us all on track on the 22nd of March. We have had many compliments on the Service and especially your words of comfort and the way you took the Service. It was very much in line with Dad and what he would have wanted.
I am glad the Service is over but there is a reason why we do it and I certainly feel it was a privilege and honour to be a part of it.

Ministry Service

Neven made a wonderful contribution to our Country Gospel weekend at Browns Bay Presbyterian Church. He spoke at a Men’s Breakfast, at the end of a Country Gospel community concert on Saturday night, at our Sunday morning services and at our Outreach Service on the Sunday night. People were greatly encouraged by Neven’s gentle but powerful testimony to the work of Jesus. We saw a number of people make first time commitments to following Jesus and many others were greatly encouraged over the course of the weekend.

We are hugely thankful for Neven’s ministry.
