WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY

Philippians 2:12-13 (NIV®)

“Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

REFLECTION

EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE IS TO HONOUR AND SERVE THE LORD

What does it mean to work out your salvation? I don’t think it means to punch a time clock for the hours you are at church, or in quiet times with the Lord, or engaged in acts of ministry. I think it means to recognize your primary assignment in every area of your life is to honour and serve the Lord. It’s bringing an awareness of the Kingdom—a desire for the Kingdom of God—into the fullness of your life. It means wherever you spend your days, you say, “God, how can I be Your hands, and feet, and voice in this place? How can I express Your love to these people?” It means when you pull into your driveway, you look at your neighbors and say, “God, for the season I live here, how can I influence these people for Your Kingdom?”

EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE IS TO HONOUR AND SERVE THE LORD

PROVERB FOR TODAY

“This is how an unfaithful wife acts: she commits adultery, takes a bath, and says, "But I haven't done anything wrong!"”

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY

“We proclaim him Christ, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.”

MOTHER BASILEA SCHLINK’S ATTITUDE FOR TODAY

"You do not build up the Kingdom of God when you insist upon your rights - instead, you destroy it. Insistence upon one's rights and quarrelling are enemies of the Kingdom of God and of Christ. so choose peace -even at the expense of your rights - and you will be God's friend."
