WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
2 Timothy 2:3)
“Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”
REFLECTION
OUR NATION HAS BEEN MODELED ON SACRIFICE, SUBMISSION, AND SERVICE
From the origin of our nation, our veterans have modeled sacrifice, submission, and service. Those serving in the military are under the authority of someone other than themselves. It's not a self-directed initiative, and it often comes with unpleasant assignments and great risk. Typically, they’re serving on behalf of someone else with self-sacrifice and a willingness to put themselves at risk for the opportunities to be gained by others. We can learn a great deal from our veterans. But do you have a similar imagination for your faith? That it is about offering ourselves as a living sacrifice, according to Scripture—putting our lives on the altar so God's purposes can come forth in the earth, and other people can benefit from the fact that we laid our lives down? Our instructions are to imagine ourselves on assignment—our influence and our leadership for the Kingdom of God are not optional.

COST OF FREEDOM
OUR NATION HAS BEEN MODELED ON SACRIFICE, SUBMISSION, AND SERVICE
The only hope I have for our nation is God's people. Your influence matters. You are of incredible importance.

Heavenly Father, thank You for our freedoms and liberties, and the high price paid to ensure them. We pray for troops presently stationed and sacrificially serving while separated from their families. Lord, assign angels to stand guard around them to protect and comfort them and their families. Thank You for the lives and sacrifices of those who have served before them and gave the strength of their youth for freedom and liberty to define this nation. Bring healing to their lives where pain, suffering, and challenges are still unresolved. Father, awaken this generation to the cost of freedom. May we not presume upon it but make choices that will allow the generations after us to know liberty and freedom as we have. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

“There are four things that are impressive to watch as they walk: lions, strongest of all animals and afraid of none; goats, strutting roosters, and kings in front of their people.”
Proverbs 30:29-31
“I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness, and you will acknowledge the LORD.”
Hosea 2:19-20
"Do not be lazy. run each day's race with all your might, so that at the end you will receive the victory wreath from God. Keep on running even when you have had a fall. The victory wreath is won by him who does not stay down, but always gets up again, grasps the banner of faith and keeps on running in the assurance that Jesus is victor!"
