DON’T EVER MINIMISE THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING AN ENCOURAGER
The religious leaders in Jerusalem were determined to silence Paul: “We have found this man to be a troublemaker who is constantly stirring up riots among the Jews all over the world,” they said. “He is a ringleader of the cult known as the Nazarenes” (Acts 24:5 NLT®). Paul was on his way to stand trial in Rome, and his friends there heard he was coming. Can you imagine the joy he felt when, after enduring so many false accusations and hardships, and knowing that his life was on the line, he saw his friends had traveled many miles to meet him? I can’t say my Christian friends have ever walked miles and miles to encourage me, but there have been many times when they have lifted me up and given me the strength to see something through. Don’t ever minimize the importance of being an encourager. It is a high calling for a Christian.
