JUST WASHING OUR DIRTY BODIES, IS A DAILY EVENT, SO TO IS THE NEED TO BE SPIRITUALLY CLEANSED DAILY
Can you imagine if we needed to wash our clothes one time and then never again? Unfortunately, life and laundry don’t work that way. We wear our clothes, and get them dirty, and must wash them again and again. We like to pretend our spiritual washing is “one and done.” At some point in the past, someone gave an invitation. We responded and said a prayer. We knew we needed to be cleansed, so we prayed for forgiveness and moved on. But the Bible says our need doesn’t stop there. It says we live in a sin-filled world. It says each of us is burdened with a carnal nature. The combination of those two things will present lifelong challenges that have to be addressed. To do that, we need the power of God at work in us, through us, and on our behalf.

Let’s move beyond the idea of one-time cleansing and acknowledge we are just as desperate for the powerful blood of Jesus as the day we said that first prayer asking for forgiveness.
