The 2nd command Jesus gave was – Follow Me

November 3, 2019

Bible Teaching for Today

“Jesus said to them, "Come with me, and I will teach you to catch people."”
Matthew 4:19

Following Jesus means yielding my personal rights and expectations to God. We are required to embrace the purposes for which God created us. These purposes are: to know Him in a personal way and to make disciples of others by teaching them all of His commandments.

Jesus is the light of the world, and as we follow Him, we will take on His brightness. With that,He will make us to be fishers of men. The disciples whom he called first with light at night. Just as the fish were attracted to the light, so God wants people to be drawn to His light shining through our lives.

Following this command to follow Jesus develops meekness in our character and avoidance the development of anger which is very destructive.
