The 3rd command Jesus gave was – Rejoice
November 4, 2019
Bible Teaching for Today
“"Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires; the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them! "Happy are you when people insult you and persecute you and tell all kinds of evil lies against you because you are my followers. Be happy and rejoice, for a great reward is kept for you in heaven. This is how the prophets who lived before you were persecuted.
To rejoice is to have an excitement in our spirits for what God is going to do through the trials that He allows in our lives, even though our souls are sorrowful because of them.
To rejoice is to be confident that God is in control of all the things that happen in our lives and that He will not allow anything to take place that will hinder our future rewards, as long as we are in fellowship with Him and with those around us.
To rejoice is to be confident that when God takes us through troubles, He is preparing us for the rewards of character and achievement that far outweigh the temporary pain of suffering.
Obeying this command develops joyfulness and eliminates self pity.

Proverb for Today
“These are the solemn words which King Lemuel's mother said to him: "You are my own dear son, the answer to my prayers. What shall I tell you? Don't spend all your energy on sex and all your money on women; they have destroyed kings. Listen, Lemuel. Kings should not drink wine or have a craving for alcohol. When they drink, they forget the laws and ignore the rights of people in need. Alcohol is for people who are dying, for those who are in misery. Let them drink and forget their poverty and unhappiness.”
Word from Scripture for Today
"Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
