Becoming a “Lighthouse”

Thought for Today

“One of the greatest joys in life is when you find yourself in need of assistance and then having a friend show up who is more than willing to roll up their sleeves to help.

When we are young we rely on our peers for support and encouragement but as we get older our relationships take a different turn and the best relationships are found where there is unselfish generosity.

Jesus himself, in Luke 10: 30-37, taught us that being a Good Samaritan means giving freely of what we have.

As Jesus is our beacon we should all follow his example by reaching out as far as we can to those who need our help and gain some good friends in the process!

Quote for Today

“The greatest test of courage on Earth is to bear defeat without losing heart.”

  • Mother Basilea Schlink

Proverb for Today

“The words of the mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.”
