Today we continue looking at the over view of the Books of the Bible
JOHN – Part 1
The Gospel of John is a gospel apart. Matthew, Mark and Luke are called the synoptic Gospels because, despite their individual emphases, they describe many of the same events in the life of Jesus of Nazareth. John draws mainly upon events and ideas not found in the other gospels to prove to his readers that Jesus is God in the flesh, the eternal Word come to earth, born to die as God’s sacrifice for human sin. Seven miraculous signs prove that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. No finer gospel sentence has ever been written than John’s inspired account of Christ’s life, death and resurrection.
Quote for Today
“As we celebrate Labor Day we honor the men and women who fought tirelessly for workers' rights which are so critical to our strong and successful labour force.”
Mother Basilea Schlink’s Attitude for Today
"Do not sleep. There is no condition more dangerous than that of sleepiness. Only when you are awake, can you wage a battle. Therefore, be on the alert and fight, so that your life will speak of victory. For only when there has been a battle, can there be victory. And the victors, the over comers, are those who will be shown great honour and glory when they enter heaven."
Mother Basilea Schlink
Proverb for Today
“The wise in heart are called discerning, and gracious words promote instruction.”
