What to expect
1. The Christian Life is not Easy.
“If any man or women would follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” ~Matthew 16:24
2. Receive Criticism
“Blessed are you when men revile you, and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of me. Rejoice, and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great ...” !Matthew 5:11-12
3. Temptation will come at you.
“Put on the full armour of God, that you might be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.” ~Ephesians 6:11 There will always be temptation, but you need not feel defeated. “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” ~1 Corinthians 10:13
4. Tell Others About Jesus
When you share your faith with others it strengthens you.
5. Meet and Fellowship with Other Christians
The Christian life was never meant to be lived alone. The church is called the “body” of Christ Jesus, and each individual makes up the members of the body with Christ Jesus the head. “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” ~1 Corinthians 12:27 Read also 1 Thessalonians 4:18; James 5:6; Hebrews 3:13; and “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” ~John 13:34-35
6. Important to Know this
God loves you. He has received you. You are a child of the Most High God. God will provide for you as you follow Him obediently and faithfully always giving thanks with an “Attitude of Gratitude”
Quote for Today
“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
John F. Kennedy
Mother Basilea Schlink’s Attitude for Today
"Treat others the way you would have them treat you. Then you will fulfil one of the two greatest commandments - to love your neighbour as yourself. And you will be blessed by God."
Mother Basilea Schlink
Proverb for Today
“Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin.”
Word from Scripture for Today
"We know him who said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God."
