“Reciting the Lord's Prayer at the meeting of a small school district in Pennsylvania was a tradition that went back to its very beginning. Unfortunately, the United States Third Circuit Court of Appeals banned public prayer before school board meetings, and two atheist groups were demanding the practice be stopped, or else.

I love what happened next. At the very next board meeting, folks from the community exercised their right to speak in support of prayer, and then began to pray out loud for God's blessings on the school board. Then the entire audience spontaneously launched into the Lord's Prayer!

News reports said that the school board members looked upset for not being able to legally pray with their neighbours. Would you be?

Jesus said, "Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God's angels. But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God's angels."

Strong language, right? It's interesting that it follows right after a wonderful promise. Jesus said, "What is the price of five sparrows -- two copper coins? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."

Yes, humans laws sometimes attempt to diminish the presence of God in our culture. But the overriding truth is that God LOVES us! Nothing can banish that fact!”
