WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Isaiah 53:4-6
"Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."
REFLECTION
REDEMPTION
Christian water baptism by full immersion is absolutely vital for anyone who believes and has accepted Jesus Christ as the “Son of God”. It symbolises spiritual cleansing, rebirth, and initiation into the Christian faith. It involves immersing a believer completely in water, representing the death and burial of the old self and rising to a new life in Christ. This practice finds its roots in the New Testament, with Jesus himself being baptized by John the Baptist as an example for believers. It's seen as an outward expression of an inward faith, signifying a commitment to follow Christ and publicly declaring one's identification with Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection. Baptism, by full immersion symbolises spiritual transformation and incorporation into the body of Christ.
