WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY

Deuteronomy 2:7 (NLT®))

“He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything.”

REFLECTION

GOD THE FATHER WIL TAKE CARE OF YOU

When God delivered His people from slavery, there were two ways for them to travel from Egypt to the land He had promised them. The logical choice would have seemed to be the Via Maris, an ancient trade route that was well-traveled, well resourced, and well defended. Surprisingly, God said, “No, not that way,” and led them into the Negev, a rocky wilderness with no apparent resources. No logic would’ve led a nation of people traveling by foot through such a brutal place. But God had a plan. “Watch this,” He said. “I’ll take care of you.” He proceeded to provide for their every physical need—food, water, clothing, even their health. God was demonstrating a principle, which is still in place today. The same God who spoke the world into existence watched over His people in the desert and watches over us today. He has not changed, nor will He ever. He has always provided for His people, and He always will. On that, we can depend.

WE CAN DEPEND ON IT

GOD THE FATHER WIL TAKE CARE OF YOU

THINK ABOUT IT

Recount a circumstance when all you could depend on was remembering God’s history of faithfulness to you. It is a safe place to be.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for watching over my life with grace and mercy. Grant me courage to turn away from ungodliness and doubt and turn toward You. I am dependent upon Your great strength, provision, and power. May my life bring honor to Jesus. In His name, Amen.

PROVERB FOR TODAY

“When wickedness comes, so does contempt, and with shame comes reproach.“

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY

"I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him. The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom's voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete."

MOTHER BASILEA SCHLINK’S ATTITUDE FOR TODAY

"Bear with special love those you find difficult to get along with. And in your sin and weakness you can be assured of God's special love."
