WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Luke 1:35, 38 (NIV®)
“The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.” … “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”
REFLECTION
SAY YES TO THE LORD’S INVITATIONS
Mary was called to demonstrate what anyone would consider radical obedience at a young age. When she was a teenager, she received an angelic invitation that was incredibly disruptive to the plans she had for her life. If she had misgivings, Scripture doesn’t tell us so. It doesn’t say she asked for some time to think about it; it simply says she accepted the plan God had for her. If you are young in years, I encourage you to say yes to the Lord’s invitations. Don’t wait for a certain birthday to roll around or until you feel like you can do something really significant. Your faith is not too young. Embrace God where you are. If you’re not as young as you used to be, don’t feel like your time has passed or you’ve done all you need to do. Honor the Lord in the season and the circumstances where you find yourself. If you want to be useful in God’s Kingdom, begin by simply saying yes.

AGE IS IRRELEVANT
SAY YES TO THE LORD’S INVITATIONS
When voices say you’re too young or too old for God’s plan, say yes to God anyway, and He will enable you for all He desires you to be.

Heavenly Father, help me to remember that You are the One who sustains and gives life—at every age. Help me to see the opportunities You place before me, and give me the boldness to respond as You lead. May Jesus’ name be exalted, and may Your purposes break forth in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Proverbs 18:23
“You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds...”
