WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Philippians 1:6 (NLT®)
I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.
REFLECTION
GOD IS OUR CREATOR AND THE AUTHOR OF OUR DAYS
Many children’s stories have something in common: They begin with “Once upon a time” and conclude with—you guessed it—“THE END.” The author of the story has the privilege of determining when the characters will be born and die, who their family members will be, and where they will live. The characters’ creator takes them through a journey that might include love and hate, friendship and betrayal, good and evil, poverty and wealth, mistakes and redemption, triumph and tragedy, and more. The author decides how much of those things each character will be allowed to experience, when and where, who will enter and exit the story, and how they will affect the outcome of the story. Our lives in Christ are a bit like that—God is our Creator and the Author of our days. He wrote our beginning, and our stories are not finished until God completes His work—right up until the moment we step into eternity. Our lives are secure in Him.
