WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY

Isaiah 62:10 (NIV®)

“Pass through, pass through the gates! Prepare the way for the people. Build up, build up the highway! Remove the stones. Raise a banner for the nations.”

REFLECTION

ACCEPT JESUS’S SACRIFICE AND BE WELCOMED INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Isaiah was telling about a time when the exiled people of God would be able to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the city they loved. But the notion of “making a way” applies to each one of us and our churches. Isaiah says to build a highway and remove the rocks so those who are coming can freely enter the city without any impeding stones of stumbling. Similarly, we want to remove any obstacles from our lives that might impede someone from hearing and receiving Jesus’ good news. We need to raise a banner for the nations to let them know all are invited to the foot of the cross to accept Jesus’s sacrifice and be welcomed into the Kingdom of God. Let’s do everything we can to provide an obstacle free pathway to the cross for all who would come.

BUILD A HIGHWAY!

ACCEPT JESUS’S SACRIFICE AND BE WELCOMED INTO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

THINK ABOUT IT

Spiritual freedom in our own lives enables us to be more effective in paving the pathway for others to gain the same freedom offered through the cross.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for opening my eyes to Your purposes. I choose to follow You and cooperate with Your Holy Spirit. May I be a testimony to the grace and power of Jesus. Help me be a preparer of a broad highway into Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
