INTENT TO LEARN & GROW
Quote for Today
“What is LIFE all about? We are created to believe in God and accept that we are uniquely created by Him and be ourselves. Have faith in our talents and skills that God has given us to help others in this journey of life. Start each day seeking God’s will and direction. God wants us to go and make a difference for good in the community around us. Leave God out and ignore His standards for living – the result, unrest”

WORD FROM SCRIPTURE FOR TODAY
Hebrews 5:13-14 (NIV®)
“Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.”
REFLECTION
WE MUST ROUTINELY IMMERSE OURSELVES IN GOD’S WORD
We live in a time when it is increasingly difficult even for believers to distinguish good from evil. Chronological affiliation with Christianity does not mean that you are spiritually mature. It is possible to sit in church year after year and yet never grow up in your faith. That requires cooperation with God’s Spirit and the intent to learn and grow. The writer says that by “constant use” of a biblical worldview—seeing the world through the lens of Scripture—we can train ourselves to distinguish between good and evil. This is not an easy process, but it is necessary if we are to fulfill our purposes in God’s Kingdom. We must routinely immerse ourselves in God’s Word. We must be faithful in prayer. We must be in fellowship with godly people who will help us discern God’s truth. When we learn to discern good from evil, our focus will become much clearer, and we will be able to help others as well.

INTENT TO LEARN & GROW
WE MUST ROUTINELY IMMERSE OURSELVES IN GOD’S WORD
The writer of Hebrews speaks of “constant use” of the “teaching about righteousness.” Let’s be caught constantly using God’s Word.

Heavenly Father, I want to grow up in my faith, and I need Your help. I choose to cooperate with Your Holy Spirit as never before. I yield my ways to follow Your way—in my relationships, my time, my resources. In all my ways, I choose the Lordship of Jesus. In His name, Amen.
