Quote for Today

“Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors - it's how you combine them that sets you apart.”

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY

John 15:18-19 (NIV®)

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

REFLECTION

JESUS MADE A PATHWAY FOR US OUT OF THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS

Jesus is offensive. Always has been, always will be. Jesus made a pathway for us out of the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of God. That pathway leads us straight to the cross and the redemption He purchased for us there. That is offensive to many people. You can talk about worship, or prayer, or love, or service to humanity without causing much of a disruption. But when you suggest Jesus is the Son of God and the only pathway to salvation, objections will begin to pop like popcorn on a hot stove. As we choose to be increasingly identified with Jesus, the disapproval will intensify. Don’t be surprised by this. Expect it and allow it to be a reminder that you have been called out of the darkness to shine a light for Jesus into the world.

DON’T BE SURPRISED

JESUS MADE A PATHWAY FOR US OUT OF THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS

THINK ABOUT IT

When the world rejects you, be thankful—it is a testimony of your alliance with God. You would not want it to be otherwise.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, forgive me for when I have suppressed Your truth because I feared persecution. I choose a new path of action, submitting afresh to Your authority and leadership. Thank You for calling me to this season. Help me be faithful to my assignment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
