WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY
Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
REFLECTION
LOVE IS BASED ON ACTION NOT EMOTIONS
Romans 5:8 teaches that God’s love is unconditional and sacrificial. It says, "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." This means that God didn’t wait for us to be perfect or worthy before showing His love—He loved us at our worst. Even when we were separated from Him by sin, He sent Jesus to die for us so that we could be forgiven and restored to a relationship with Him. This kind of love is not based on human effort but on God’s grace. It is a powerful reminder that no matter our past mistakes, God’s love remains constant, and He offers salvation freely to all who believe in Jesus.

GOD’S LOVE
LOVE IS BASED ON ACTION NOT EMOTIONS
Here are six simple points you can share to help non-believers understand why Jesus willingly went to the Cross: 1. Unconditional Love: God's love is not based on our actions or perfection. He loves us even when we make mistakes, and Jesus’s sacrifice shows that love is given freely, without conditions. 2. The Debt of Sin: According to the Bible, sin creates a debt or a separation between us and God. We cannot pay this debt on our own. Jesus’s death on the Cross was the payment made on our behalf, covering the penalty for our wrongdoings. 3. A Bridge to Reconciliation: Sin creates a barrier that separates us from God. Jesus’s sacrifice tore down that barrier, offering a way for us to reconnect and have a close relationship with God. 4. Justice and Mercy: God’s nature is both just and merciful. His justice required that sin be dealt with, but His mercy provided a way out. Jesus’s sacrifice satisfied the need for justice while also extending forgiveness and mercy to us. 5. A Demonstration of Ultimate Sacrifice: Jesus’s willingness to endure suffering and death on the Cross is the ultimate act of selflessness and love. It shows just how far God was willing to go to restore our relationship with Him. 6. An Invitation to New Life: Through Jesus’s sacrifice, believers are not only forgiven but are also invited to experience a new, transformed life with hope and purpose. This promise of renewal is at the heart of the Christian faith. These points help explain that Jesus's death was not a tragic end but a powerful, loving act that makes a restored relationship with God possible for everyone.

Heavenly Father, I come before You with an open heart, longing for Your presence. I recognize that I have sinned and fallen short of Your perfect love, but I thank You for Your mercy and grace that never fail. Lord, I acknowledge that I cannot save myself—I need You. Thank You for sending Jesus, Your Son, to take my place on the Cross, to bear my sins, and to pay the debt I could never pay. His sacrifice is the ultimate expression of Your love, and I humbly accept it today. Wash me clean, O Lord, and make me new. Fill my heart with Your Spirit and lead me in the way of truth. Jesus, I surrender my life to You. Be my Lord and Savior. Guide me in Your love, teach me Your ways, and help me to walk in faith each day. Let my life be a testimony of Your saving grace, and use me to share Your love with others. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of salvation. Thank You for calling me Your own. I trust in You completely and place my hope in the promise of eternal life with You. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
