WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY

John 14:6

"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

REFLECTION

JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER TO OUR SIN. THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION

In John 14:6, Jesus makes a powerful and exclusive statement:
"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

This means:

  1. "I am the way" → Jesus is the only path to God; no religion, good deeds, or personal efforts can save us. Only through Him can we be reconciled to God.
  2. "I am the truth" → Jesus is the full revelation of God. If we want to know God, we must look at Jesus. He is the embodiment of God’s truth.
  3. "I am the life" → Jesus gives eternal life to those who believe in Him. Without Him, we remain spiritually dead in sin.

Jesus didn’t say He was one of many ways—He said He was the way. This makes Christianity unique because salvation is not about what we do but about trusting in what Jesus has already done for us.

Other Supporting Bible Verses

  • Acts 4:12 (NIV)
"Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved."
This verse confirms that only Jesus can save us—no other person, belief, or effort can bring us to God.
  • 1 Timothy 2:5 (NIV)
"For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus."
Jesus is the bridge between us and God; He alone can reconcile us to the Father.
  • John 10:9 (NIV)
"I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture."
Jesus describes Himself as a gate—only by entering through Him can we be saved and have a full, abundant life.
  • Romans 5:1-2 (NIV)
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."
Through Jesus, we are made right with God and can have peace with Him.
  • John 3:16 (NIV)
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
God’s love is shown in Jesus’ sacrifice, and believing in Him is the only way to eternal life.

FINAL THOUGHT

The Bible is very clear—Jesus is the only way to God. He paid the price for our sins through His death and resurrection, and when we trust in Him, we receive forgiveness, a restored relationship with God, and eternal life.

JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GOD

JESUS IS THE ONLY ANSWER TO OUR SIN. THERE IS NO OTHER OPTION

THINK ABOUT IT

Sin separates us from God, breaking the close relationship He originally intended for us (Isaiah 59:2). Because God is holy and just, sin cannot exist in His presence, and we cannot restore this relationship on our own through good works or religious efforts (Romans 3:23). However, in His great love, God provided the only way for reconciliation—through Jesus Christ. Jesus, who is fully God and fully man, took the punishment for our sins by dying on the Cross and rising again. John 14:6 makes it clear: "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Through faith in Jesus, we receive forgiveness, become children of God, and are restored to a right relationship with our Heavenly Father (Romans 5:1-2). If we reject Jesus and refuse the salvation He offers, we remain in our sins and separated from God. The Bible warns that the consequence of rejecting Christ is eternal separation from God, described as spiritual death and judgment (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, Revelation 20:15). John 3:36 says, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them." God does not force anyone to accept Him, but He lovingly invites all people to receive His grace. The choice is ours—accept Jesus and receive eternal life or reject Him and remain in separation from God forever.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart that longs to be made right with You. I confess that my sins have separated me from You, and I cannot fix this brokenness on my own. I have strayed from Your perfect plan, choosing my own ways instead of Yours. But today, Lord, I humble myself and surrender completely to You. Thank You for Your unfailing love and mercy. Thank You for sending Jesus, Your precious Son, to take my place on the Cross. His sacrifice paid the price for my sins, and through His resurrection, I have the hope of new life. Jesus, I believe that You are the only way to the Father, the truth that sets me free, and the life that restores my soul. I put my trust in You alone. Forgive me, O Lord, and cleanse me from all my sins. Wash me in Your grace and make me new. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and draw me closer to You each day. I want to walk in Your ways, live in Your presence, and fulfill the purpose You have for my life. Father, I no longer want to live apart from You. I long to know You deeply, to love You fully, and to serve You wholeheartedly. Restore me, renew me, and guide me in Your truth. Thank You for welcoming me back into Your arms and giving me the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. I give You my heart, my mind, and my soul. From this day forward, I am Yours. I will follow You all the days of my life. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
