SALVATION IS A GIFT
Quote for Today
“Our Christian hope is that we are going to live with Christ in a new earth, where there is not only no more death, but where life is what it was always meant to be.”

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
REFLECTION
SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD, NOT SOMETHING WE CAN EARN BY GOOD DEEDS.
Ephesians 2:6-9 teaches that salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace, not something we can achieve through our own efforts. The passage emphasizes that believers are raised up with Christ and seated with Him in the heavenly realms, showing the incredible transformation that takes place when we are saved. This is not because of anything we have done but because of God’s great love and mercy. Verse 8 clearly states that salvation is by grace through faith, meaning it is a gift from God, not a reward for good works. This truth humbles us, reminding us that no one can boast about earning their way to heaven. Instead, we must place our full trust in Christ, knowing that it is His sacrifice that secures our salvation.
This passage also highlights the purpose of salvation—to reveal God’s immeasurable grace for all eternity. By saving sinners who could never save themselves, God demonstrates His kindness in a way that will be celebrated forever. Our response should be one of gratitude and devotion, living not to earn salvation but as a reflection of the grace we have received. Good works are not the means of salvation but the result of a transformed life in Christ. Ephesians 2:6-9 reassures us that our salvation is secure because it rests on God’s power and not our weakness. This gives believers confidence and peace, knowing that their relationship with God is built on His faithfulness rather than human effort.

SALVATION IS A GIFT
SALVATION IS A GIFT FROM GOD, NOT SOMETHING WE CAN EARN BY GOOD DEEDS.
If you feel like a rebel against God, here are six things you should meditate on regarding God’s salvation: 1. God’s Love for You • Romans 5:8 (NIV) – "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." • Think About This: Even in your rebellion, God still loves you. His love is not based on your performance but on His grace. 2. The Seriousness of Sin • Romans 6:23 (NIV) – "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." • Think About This: Sin has consequences—it separates us from God. But He offers the free gift of eternal life through Jesus. 3. Jesus Paid the Price for You • 1 Peter 3:18 (NIV) – "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." • Think About This: Jesus took your punishment upon Himself so you could be made right with God. 4. Salvation is by Grace, Not Your Efforts • Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) – "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." • Think About This: You don’t have to fix yourself before coming to God—salvation is His free gift to you. 5. You Can Be Forgiven and Made New • Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) – "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" • Think About This: No matter your past, God can make you a new person through faith in Christ. 6. Today is the Day to Respond • Corinthians 6:2 (NIV) – "I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation." • Think About This: Don’t wait. God is calling you now to turn to Him and receive His salvation.

Heavenly Father, I come before You, broken and unworthy, knowing that I have rebelled against You. My sins have separated me from Your holiness, and I have no excuse. Yet, in Your great mercy, You offer forgiveness through Jesus Christ. Lord, I need You! I cannot save myself. My heart is heavy with guilt, but I turn to You now, crying out for Your grace. Jesus, I believe You died for my sins and rose again to give me new life. Wash me clean with Your precious blood. I surrender my pride, my sin, and my rebellion at Your feet. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and make me a new creation. I accept Your gift of salvation, not by my works, but by Your grace alone. Help me to follow You with all my heart, to love You, and to walk in the light of Your truth. Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and for saving me even when I least deserve it. I place my faith in You alone. I give You my life—now and forever. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
