GOD HAS A PATH OF LIFE FOR YOU
Quote for Today
“We do not smirk at the misery or the merrymaking of immoral culture. We weep. Being pilgrims does not mean being cynical. The salt of the earth does not mock rotting meat. Where it can, it saves and seasons. And where it can’t, it weeps.”
- John Piper

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY
Psalm 16:11
"You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand."
REFLECTION
LORD YOU MAKE KNOWN TO ME THE PATH OF LIFE
“If you and I were sitting side-by-side on my couch, sipping coffee and reading Psalm 16, we would probably each choose a different favourite portion of this Psalm. While I really love all the verses, I am especially drawn to verse 11, and find amazing, sweet comfort knowing that God will show me the path of life. David writes: “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”
When I was a little girl, I loved making paths for my dolls under the pine trees at our cabin. I would carefully carve out all kinds of detours and side streets for them to walk along. I liked to show them how to get from point A to B, C, or D. I am particularly delighted knowing God will show me the right path that He has designed just for me. I know I have choices, but I want the very best path He has created for me. You know, when people fuss over opinions about how they should serve the Lord, I like to remind them that while God has a plan of eternal life as the ultimate path for each of us, He has other tailor-made paths for us as individuals who love Him. He is my refuge, my joy, the One I trust in completely, without reservation. So, I know the path He has set before me is going to bring Him glory, and me peace, even in the topsy-turvy world we live in today.
So, tell me, what’s your favourite verse in Psalm 16?”

GOD HAS A PATH OF LIFE FOR YOU
LORD YOU MAKE KNOWN TO ME THE PATH OF LIFE
Psalm 16 is a powerful passage that encourages believers to trust in God, find joy in His presence, and walk in His path of life. Here are five key things it teaches us to think about and build into our lives as followers of Jesus Christ: COMPLETE TRUST IN GOD – "Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge." (Psalm 16:1, NIV) • This psalm reminds us to place our full trust in God, knowing that He is our refuge and protector. Instead of relying on our own strength or worldly security, we must develop a lifestyle of faith and dependence on Him. COMMITMENT TO GOD’S WAYS – "I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.’" (Psalm 16:2, NIV) • Everything good in our lives comes from God. This verse encourages us to surrender completely to His lordship, recognizing that true joy and purpose come from following Him. SURROUNDING OURSELVES WITH GODLY INFLUENCE – "I say of the holy people who are in the land, ‘They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.’" (Psalm 16:3, NIV) • Who we spend time with shapes our faith. Psalm 16 encourages us to build strong relationships with other believers, surrounding ourselves with people who encourage us in our walk with Christ. FINDING JOY AND SATISFACTION IN GOD – "You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand." (Psalm 16:11, NIV) • True joy is found in God’s presence, not in worldly success or temporary pleasures. This psalm calls us to prioritize time with God—through prayer, worship, and His Word—so that our joy remains unshaken. CONFIDENCE IN GOD’S ETERNAL PROMISES – "Because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay." (Psalm 16:10, NIV) • This verse, which also points to Jesus’ resurrection, reminds us that our hope is secure in Christ. No matter what we face in life, we can live with peace and confidence, knowing that God’s promises are eternal. By building these principles into our daily lives, we can walk in God’s path of life, experiencing His joy, peace, and purpose.

Heavenly Father, I come before You with a heart full of gratitude and surrender. You are my refuge, my joy, and the source of my every good thing. Lord, I long to walk in the path You have prepared for me, but I know I cannot do it in my own strength. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and let these principles from Psalm 16 be an active and dominant part of my life in Christ Jesus. Teach me to trust in You completely. Help me to take refuge in You alone and not in the fleeting securities of this world. Strengthen my faith so that in every challenge, I will stand firm, knowing that You are my protector and provider. Remind me daily that apart from You, I have no good thing. Keep my heart surrendered to Your will, that I may walk in obedience and experience the fullness of Your presence. Surround me with godly influences. Lead me to the right people—those who love You and will encourage me in my walk of faith. Help me to delight in the company of Your people, growing in wisdom and accountability. Remove from my life anything or anyone that pulls me away from Your purpose. Fill me with an unshakable joy in Your presence. Let my deepest satisfaction come from knowing You, worshiping You, and living in Your will. Keep me from seeking fulfillment in things that do not last, and instead, let my heart overflow with the eternal pleasures that come from walking closely with You. Keep my eyes on Your eternal promises. No matter what trials come my way, help me to stand on the truth that You will never abandon me. Just as Christ triumphed over the grave, I trust that I, too, have victory in You. Let me live each day with confidence in Your unfailing love, knowing that my hope is secure in Christ. Father, mold me into the person You created me to be. Let these truths be deeply rooted in my heart and evident in my actions. Let my life bring glory to Your name as I walk faithfully in the path You have set before me. In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!
