WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY
Psalm 46:10-11 (NIV®)
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.”
REFLECTION
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT JESUS IS GOD AND SAVIOUR OF ALL MANKIND
I’ve always believed the best defense is a good offense. As a kid, if I had any inkling you were going to hit me, I’d probably hit you first. Age, experience, and a few cuts and bruises have tempered that behaviour. But I still have to work to keep those attitudes under control. So, when God says, “Be still,” that can be hard for me. My personality is prodding me to be assertive. But there have been many times when God has said, “Be still, Allen. Be patient. Wait for me. I will take care of this, and I will receive the glory for it.” If God has asked you to be in a place of stillness and waiting, know He is there, too. He has not abandoned you. He is allowing you to be quiet in order to grow in your understanding of His character and praise Him when you see His power at work.

PLACE OF STILLNESS & WAITING
BE STILL AND KNOW THAT JESUS IS GOD AND SAVIOUR OF ALL MANKIND
When you are in a place of stillness, you can more easily connect with God. Slow down and truly listen for His guidance. If you will, He will be close to you in that place.

Heavenly Father, help me truly know You. Thank You for being close to me in seasons of stillness and waiting. In Your great mercy, You provide for and protect me in that place as You keep watch over me. Thank You for being glorified through my waiting. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
