Quote for Today
“If we don’t take inventory every once in a while and give thanks to God for the great things He has done for us, we get totally out of perspective.”

WORD FROM THE HOLY BIBLE FOR TODAY
Numbers 11:14-15 (NLT®)
“I can’t carry all these people by myself! The load is far too heavy! If this is how you intend to treat me, just go ahead and kill me. Do me a favour and spare me this misery!”
REFLECTION
MOSES HAD SAID YES TO GOD’S INVITATION AND DONE EVERYTHING GOD ASKED HIM TO DO, YET HIS TASK WAS STILL VERY HARD
Moses was at the end of his rope. God had delivered the Israelites from slavery and provided for their needs. But they were complaining about what they didn’t have, and Moses was tired of it. It sounds like a comedian’s punch line—“Go ahead and kill me!”—but Moses was serious. He had said yes to God’s invitation and done everything God asked him to do, yet his task was still very hard. Life will do that to you. Was Moses disobeying God? Was he out partying in the desert? No, he was in the midst of God’s purposes, leading God’s people on a divinely orchestrated journey. But he still lost his hope. We’ve believed the lie that discouragement only comes when you’ve stepped away from God. Discouragement comes to everyone. The difference is that we have a God who will walk that path with us and give us the power we need to make it through.

ANTIDOTE TO DISCOURAGEMENT

When you recognize discouragement, ask the Lord to restore your hope, strength, and courage. He will help us endure and persevere.

Heavenly Father, help me more fully understand all Jesus accomplished through the cross for me. Grant a revelation of Him more real than any discouragement or disappointment. Thank You for Your grace, mercy, and forgiveness in my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
