AWAKENED TO YOU

Word from the Bible for Today

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

  • Matthew 5:14-16

GOD’S INTERVENSION

Word from the Bible for Today

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

  • Matthew 5:14-16

REFLECTION

“We need to be aware of how God has intervened in every one of our lives. He has awakened us to His truth; He has delivered us from darkness; all our sins have been forgiven; we are light in the dark world. Those are not small things. If we had to give an account for all the ways we fall short, we would stand apart from the Kingdom of God. Thank Him for the many times you’ve seen Him move when you have offered prayers, or carried prayers, or you weren’t wise enough to pray. We must remember the countless ways the Lord has watched over us.”

THINK ABOUT IT

We can rest in the fact that God watches over us and protects us—even when we are unaware.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You rescued me from the kingdom of darkness and brought me into the Kingdom of Your Son—thank You for my reconciliation to You through the cross of Jesus. I believe You intend for Your people to be salt and light in the world. Grant me courage to lead and take my place, with grace and wisdom to know what to say, when to speak, and when to be silent. Lead me to those You’ve prepared, who are ready, receptive, and open to life transformation. Thank You for Jesus once again being welcomed in our schools, courtrooms, classrooms, college campuses, and our corporate suites. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Mother Basilea Schlink’s Attitude for Today

Jesus gives us a new commandment: to love as He has loved us. Begin to love this commandment as the most precious legacy of his heart and as his request to you. Then it will be easy for you to follow it, for love makes the hardest things easy and sweetens everything.
