REFLECTION

“God chose the Jewish people for a unique purpose. Through them we have Scripture, the prophets, the Law, and the Messiah. It’s through the Jewish people that the redemptive purposes of God have been revealed. The salvation for all of humanity was delivered through the Jewish people. Today, seated at the right hand of God the Father is the man Jesus Christ—the Savior of the world and a Jewish rabbi. The Creator of all things did not call for a vote or take a poll on the best path to provide a way of salvation and accomplish His purposes in the earth. We are indebted to the Jewish people for our heritage of faith. Let’s commit ourselves to praying that God will shine His light on the path that He has set before His Church and the Jewish people.”

THINK ABOUT IT

Incorporating a regular routine of praying for the Church and for the Jewish people will reap manifold blessings.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels.’ For the sake of my family and friends, I will say, ‘Peace be within you’” (Psalm 122:6-8, NIV®). In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Mother Basilea Schlink’s Attitude for Today

You do not build up the Kingdom of God when you insist upon your rights - instead, you destroy it. Insistence upon one's rights and quarrelling are enemies of the Kingdom of God and of Christ. so choose peace -even at the expense of your rights - and you will be God's friend.
